The “It Gets Better” Campaign

May 4, 2011

THE It Gets Better Project,” started by homosexual columnist Dan Savage, is a campaign to encourage homosexuality in teenagers. The theme, inspired by teen bullying, is that homosexuality “gets better” with time.  Celebrities, including Suze Orman and Adam Lambert; politicians such as Obama, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi; and corporations, including Gap and Facebook, have contributed to the 10,000-some videos on the project’s website, which amount to a loving virtual embrace of  the confused and lonely. Google’s new entry is a warm appeal to teenagers who may have experienced hostility from friends or family. “Your life will be amazing but you have to tough this period out and you have to live,” says one adult in the ad. “You are perfect and wonderful just the way you are,” says another.

All in all, the project is a remarkably powerful use of Internet and video technology. It may be unprecedented in its reach and beguiling message.

The “It Gets Better” project is similar to an ad campaign assuring addicts that drug use gets better with time. Such a thing would never be permitted. But when it comes to public promotion of homosexuality, the dangers are never mentioned. Nowhere do these videos speak of the health consequences, especially for men. There is no mention of the drastically reduced life span, the host of diseases or the high suicide rate. According to the American College of Pediatricians,  diseases frequently found among male homosexual practitioners as a result of anal intercourse include:

Anal Cancer
Chlamydia trachomatis
Cryptosporidium
Giardia lamblia
Herpes simplex virus
Human immunodeficiency virus
Human papilloma virus
Isospora belli
Microsporidia
Gonorrhea
Viral hepatitis types B & C
Syphilis 7

Homosexuals also have high rates of incontinence, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anarectal trauma, and what is commonly known as “Gay Bowel,” caused by the introduction of bacteria into the intestines due to oral-anal sex.  Resulting infections include Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, Epstein-Barr virus, Neisseria meningitides, Shigellosis, Salmonellosis, Pediculosis, scabies and Campylobacter. According to Jeffrey Satinover, author of Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth, the average male homosexual’s life span is about 30 percent less than the life span of the heterosexual.

America’s youth are routinely denied the scientific facts about homosexuality. Here is an idea for a video for this project. Simply scroll the facts across the screen. As the American College of Pediatricians writes:

Anal intercourse is the sine qua non of sex for many gay men. Yet human physiology makes it clear that the body was not designed to accommodate this activity. The rectum is significantly different from the vagina with regard to suitability for penetration by a penis. The vagina has natural lubricants and is supported by a network of muscles. It is composed of a mucus membrane with a multi-layer stratified squamous epithelium that allows it to endure friction without damage and to resist the immunological actions caused by semen and sperm. In comparison, the anus is a delicate mechanism of small muscles that comprise an “exit-only” passage. With repeated trauma, friction and stretching, the sphincter loses its tone and its ability to maintain a tight seal. Consequently, anal intercourse leads to leakage of fecal material that can easily become chronic.

The potential for injury is exacerbated by the fact that the intestine has only a single layer of cells separating it from highly vascular tissue, that is, blood. Therefore, any organisms that are introduced into the rectum have a much easier time establishing a foothold for infection than they would in a vagina. The single layer tissue cannot withstand the friction associated with penile penetration, resulting in traumas that expose both participants to blood, organisms in feces, and a mixing of bodily fluids.

Caroline writes:

Their video is so seductive (in the sense of seducing one to agree with erry & Dan, natch.) The wedding ring, the smiles, the child, it’s all so normal, equating homosexual sex with normalcy. You are so right—a crawler at the bottom of the screen with the statistical medical facts would inject a note of honesty in this. Never happen, of course. What a frightening world we live in. I shudder for future generations.

Alex A. writes from England:

How a disease ridden and disgusting ‘lifestyle’ can be promoted as having a ‘positive future’ (in the It Gets Better Project), is perplexing beyond description.

Any principled criticism of homosexuality – no matter how one might qualify it with charitable disclaimers etc. – provokes immediate vilification as a “hater”, “irrational bigot” or even “theocrat”. For this reason I no longer make any effort to tone down my implacable opposition to ‘gay’ apologetics.

This policy creates enemies in the most unexpected quarters; but silence amounts to collusion.

Laura writes:

Silence does indeed amount to collusion. Many men will see their lives dramatically shortened because of this type of promotion.
