Critics of Islam Banned from Britain

June 28, 2013

DANIEL S. writes:

Counter-jihad activists and bloggers Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller have been banned from entry into Britain for their critical views on Islam. Spencer has provided a copy of the British Home Secretary’s letter outlining the reason for his being banned from speaking at an English Defense League rally, specifically this statement:

“…it [Islam] is a religion and a belief system that mandates warfare against unbelievers for the purpose of establishing a societal model that is absolutely incompatible with Western society because media and general government unwillingness to face the sources of Islamic terrorism these things remain largely unknown.”

Robert Spencer is a thought criminal guilty of hate speech for stating something (Islam teaches aggressive warfare against unbelievers) affirmed by both the Koran and mainstream, traditional Muslim scholars for over a thousand years. In fact, in Britain one can find countless Muslim clerics saying exactly the same thing as Spencer (with many of those same clerics receiving state benefits or being on the payroll of British intelligence). Indeed, it is interesting to note that the British government was swift in banning Spencer and Geller, but recently allowed a radical Saudi cleric who permitted wife beating and encouraged jihad violence in Syria to enter Britain unmolested.

Nevertheless, I cannot be too upset by this. Geller especially is an unbalanced character who once suggested that Israel should retaliate against Europe with nuclear weapons should Iran or another Muslim power conduct a nuclear attack on the Jewish state. Geller may fume about the Islamization of the West, but she is no friend of the struggle to defend traditional European civilization.
