“An Ecclesiastical Chernobyl”

August 29, 2018

“Pope” Francis and then Cardinal Theodore McCarrick

NOVUS ORDO WATCH has been vigilantly (and perceptively as always) following the events which may represent the death knell to “Pope” Francis’s pseudo-papacy — the accusations by “Archbishop” Carlo Viganò that Francis was personally involved in the cover-up of “Cardinal” Theodore’s McCarrick’s sex abuse crimes:

Yesterday we published a post chronicling what had happened since “Archbishop” Carlo Viganò released his 11-page dossier accusing Francis of having known about and covered up Theodore McCarrick’s shameful immoral acts. As this is becoming nothing less than an ecclesiastical Chernobyl, we’re going to start providing daily updates on the day’s developments and links to commentary, in addition to our usual postings on other topics. Please bear with us as we navigate through this unprecedented disaster that could bring the end of the Francis “pontificate”.

The claims against Francis are reportedly highly credible. How will the cunning spinmeister ever attuned to public opinion spin this? So far, the man who is an ever-flowing fount of public statements has been uncharacteristically silent.

James N. writes:

I realize that for a 1958 sedevacantist, none of this is a surprise – but I’m a bit surprised you haven’t blogged about it.

My take is that it isn’t the tolerance of homosexual clergy (Using the “everyone is a sinner” line), but it’s the attempt, largely successful, to impose a homosexualist THEOLOGY that is a the root of these recent events.

“Thinking themselves wise, they became fools”. Homosexual clergy, chaste or not, prior to the 1970s did not TEACH that God created homosexuals as such and did not TEACH that, by engaging in disgusting and sinful behavior that they were being loyal to THEIR “truth”.

The recent failed World Meeting of Families in Dublin (“there are all kinds of families”) was meant to be the capstone of this homosexualist project, and but for McCarrick’s outing, it would have been.

Now, they will have to fight for all the marbles.

Laura writes:

None of it is a surprise.

The Vatican II Church believes in the evolution of dogma, therefore the ideas you mention are now commonplace. It does not uphold morality or the faith. In contrast, no institution in the history of the world has so harshly condemned the practice of homosexuality (a “sin which cries out for vengeance”) while at the same time offering help, mercy and consolation to the person who through no fault of his own is afflicted with homosexual desires as the true Catholic Church.

At Christ or Chaos, Dr. Thomas Droleskey writes:

The whole conciliar enterprise is a corruption of Catholic Faith, Worship and Morals. “Archbishop” Vignano’s unquestionably courageous letter identifies symptoms of problems without getting to their ultimate root cause.

If this is Waterloo for Jorge Mario Bergoglio, which I doubt will be the case, out will go the Jacobin/Bolshevik conciliar revolutionary, in will come a Girondist/Menshevik revolutionary. Whether “moderate” or “progressive,” though, conciliar revolutionaries are in rebellion against the very nature of dogmatic truth, which is an attack on the very immutability of God Himself.

By the way, those convicted of sexual abuse of the young — or the cover-up of sexual abuse — should, I believe, receive the death penalty — another Catholic dogma Francis has trashed.

John Purdy writes:

Here’s more fuel for the fire. Cardinal Blase Cupich defends pope.

Laura writes:

Cupich thinks a pope is a sort of Super Politician.

He has become further unhinged and calls those who support Viganò  “racist bigots.”
